Ed Debevic´s in Beverly Hills muß man schon etwas länger suchen. Es gehört keiner der großen Diner-Ketten an und liegt untypischerweise nicht in der Nähe einer Shopping-Mall.
Innen wie erhofft 50er pur, sogar einen “Fernwähler” findet man auf vielen Tischen.
Ein als Cowboy vekleideter Service-Man war an diesem Tag anscheinend auf eine Horde von Kids
eingestellt, die im Debevic´s Geburtstag feierten. Mit einer Reihe von coolen Sprüchen auf den Lippen wurden auch uns super schnell die 50´s-Burger serviert.
Am Ende gab es noch eine Diner-Kappe als Abschiedsgeschenk. Die
Suche hatte sich also auf jeden Fall gelohnt.

Die durchgeknallte Bedienung war wohl nicht nur an diesem Tag verkleidet. Wie in den Kritiken über “Ed Debevic’s” zu lesen ist, ist das Diner bekannt für sein ausgeflipptes Personal.
Anfang 2003 erreichte uns die Nachricht, dass das Ed Debevic's in LA seine Pforten leider für immer geschlossen hätte. Auf der Ed Debevic's Website ist dieser Standort aber noch aufgelistet. Also, falls Ihr wirklich nach California kommt, schaut vorher noch einmal auf der Liste der Standorte nach. Ed Debevic's gibt es nur sonst noch in Phoenix, Milwaukee und Chicago.

rollerskates. A live DJ plays period tunes, and once in a while, your servers break out into a dance on top of the counter. yes, even the one in roller skates. Humorous, in-your-face signs plaster the walls. Then, of course,
you've got your greasy burgers and shakes which fill you up. A great place to have a good time, but not if you're in the mood for a quiet place for gourmet food.
